Bm3 stage 2 tunes provide a decept bump when compared to stage 1; the tunes are a bit more aggressive. All else constant, stage 2 maps will run a couple PSI more than the stage 1 maps. However, a catless downpipe is going to provide a decent chunk of the benefits. Not only does it provide a good bump in power, but a catless downpipe also helps
Stage 1 and stage 2 remapping or tuning involves engine remapping or tuning and that enables the car’s engine to ensure power gains without giving any false readings.
Stage 1 tuning is a "bolt on" or single modification that requires no other work to the car or engine. You can consider a stage 1 modification to be referred to as a fast road mod. It is suitable for a daily use car. It can be used in isolation with standard components. Overall reliability and daily drivability of the car will remain.

EDIT: (6/17/21) The Stage 1 product and ordering information is now on CarBahn's website, along with Dyno charts. They claim 783 flywheel HP and 754 lb/ft flywheel torque. Quote: Steve Dinan and the team at CarBahn have been hard at work developing new software and hardware for different platforms, most recently flash software for the 2020 X5M

The same goes for knock. Instead of holding the engine in that cell where it is experiencing knock while you slowly retard the timing, you’re best to immediately back off the throttle, make the change and then return to that cell to see if the change has worked. Hopefully, that gives you a good insight into the world of turbocharged engine
Quick advice, if you plan on doing a stage 1 ECU tune, make sure to change your oil, upgrade to NGK 2 step colder spark plugs, and change your coils. You’ll obviously be adding more wear than factory performance - will help keep your vehicle optimized :) shakethat_desk17 • 2 yr. ago. Thanks for the info!! With the spark plugs and coils

2.0 L OM654 engine I4 Turbo Diesel PHEV. The E Class is a good car tuning project to play with. The key to E Class tuning is finding the right mods - a lot of money can be wasted if you do it wrong. Top end power should be your overall aim on the E Class with a nice fat peak torque band.
If you are just starting out in tuning your car or want to build the ultimate modified car project you need to start somewhere so we will look at stage 1 tun
Porting Polishing the head. Power/Sport Clutch. Lighter Flywheels. Nitrous Kits. Remaps. Turbo Upgrades. The more mods you add, the greater that percentage power gain is and you get a much better headline power figure at the end. Here is our video on stage 2 tuning mods on our YouTube Channel.

We'll start with an overview of what car tuning is and why it's so popular among car enthusiasts. Then, we'll take a closer look at the four stages of car tu

Yes. Im stage 1 (93 octane/high torque map) absolutely worth every penny. Without the TCU tune, in regular D mode the shifts can be a tiny bit more harsh than stock but its not damaging the trans by any means. I definitely recommend having a dogbone mount insert from 034 or apr's new one before you tune the ecu. The ECU flash will cost $4.96 per ft lbs and the down pipe will add $770 or another $6.06 per ft lbs for a total of $11.02 per ft lbs of torque gained. Investment = $1400, gain = 127 ft lbs (oh, and get APR's downpipe and save the stage 2 flash fee!) If your car is DSG, the flash for that really complements the ECU flash. If you’re looking to give your car a little extra oomph without breaking the bank, a Stage 1 tune might be just the ticket. Picture this: your vehicle is a beautiful, untamed stallion, but it’s currently operating at a mere fraction of its true potential. A Stage 1 tune is like taking that majestic beast and setting it free. The Stage 1 remap is achieved by recalibrating the ECU. This is done by connecting tuning equipment to the ECU via the OBD port, or by removing the ECU from the car and ‘benching’ it to work on it manually. Either way, a Stage 1 remap is a simple and effective way to improve your car’s performance without breaking the bank. VDIBxeP.
