It has a nicer screen and I think it looks better and it is more modern. But the 735xt is a fine watch and will work well. I think the smartwatch-type battery life will be better on the 735. But GPS-on battery life will be better on the 245. I think the 245 is worth the extra money if you don't need the triathalon activities.
